Jersey Avenue Permit Questions:

Jersey Avenue is a parking lot designated for Jersey Avenue parkers. Quarterly and annual permits are available for purchase for commuters. Daily parking is also available through parking meters on-site.

 

1.      What happens if my permit fails the approval process?

a.      Answer: An email will be sent to the email address associated with your account, stating why the application failed as well as what documentation is required for approval.  Please provide these documents as soon as possible to have your permit approved. 

                                                     i.     Application approval may fail due to

1.      Invalid credit card information

2.      Credit card expiration date

2.      What if I bought a new car, have new plates, or have a rental car? Is there any way to update my plate? 

a.      Answer:  With this new system, you can simply log in and change which vehicle is registered, but you will only be able to have one vehicle registered at a time. You will be able to do this from a phone with internet access as well.

b.      Note: Failing to register the correct license plate of the vehicle that is currently parked may result in a parking ticket.

3.      Another person in my household drives to the train station sometimes and uses my hangtag. What should I do with the new program?

a.      Answer: With this new system, you can simply log in and change which vehicle is registered, but you will only be able to have one vehicle registered at a time. You will be able to do this from a phone with internet access as well.

4.      How long is my permit valid for?

a.      Answer: You may purchase a quarterly or annual permit.  These permits are rolling three and 12-month permits.  They become active on the date you select at the time of purchase and will expire either three or 12 months later, depending on which permit you purchased. 

Ex. If you purchase a quarterly permit and choose a start date of October 5th, 2016, it will expire on January 5th, 2017.

5.      How may I pay for the permit with the new system?

a.      Answer: You may pay online or over the phone using a credit card, debit card, or electronic check. For in-person payments, you may use a credit card, debit card, check, or money order. 

6.      What if I have temporary tags?

a.      Answer: You will be responsible for updating your license plate number when you get your plates from the NJ MVC.   

 

Disputing:

 

1.      Why might I receive a parking ticket if I park in the Jersey Avenue lot?

a.      Answer: A ticket may be issued if you have not registered your vehicle for a digital parking permit, the license plate number was entered incorrectly on your permit application, or you may have forgotten to update the license plate number for your secondary vehicle.

2.      How do I dispute the ticket?

a.      Answer: If you received a ticket for a vehicle, which was not properly registered for a digital parking permit, and you wish to dispute, please contact the NBPA Enforcement office at 732-545-3118 x135.

3.      I received a ticket even though I have a permit, what do I do? 

a.      Answer: If the ticketed vehicle was definitely registered for a digital parking permit, please call 844-509-2708, available 24/7/365.

  

4.      What if I received a ticket because I incorrectly entered my license plate when signing up online?

a.      Answer: You will be responsible for the ticket. If you wish to dispute, please contact Parking Enforcement at NBPA at 732-545-3118 x135.

 

  Signage:

 

1.      Is there signage located at the train lot?

a.      Answer: There are signs located as you enter the Jersey Avenue lot stating parking permits are required.  Daily parking is located on the other side of the street for those who do not wish to purchase a quarterly or annual permit but want to pay for a single day.
